Is the American pose for you?

Another technique for nail extensions?!
Yes, but not just any.

As a nail stylist myself, I know that the nail industry is evolving, and a lot has changed in the last 20, 10 or even 5 years. The technique known in French as pose américaine comes to us from the United States, ever since the Aprés Nail brand commercialized the Gel-X system kit with full-coverage soft gel tips.

Revolutionary tips that allow professionals not only to create short or long, strong and durable extensions in less time, but also to facilitate removal, as they are soak off, meaning they dissolve in acetone like a semi-permanent polish, offering an alternative to the use of acrylic or hard gel, which is more aggressive on the natural nail. More respectful of the natural nail, the Gel-X system has won over stars like Ariana Grande, Kylie Jenner, and Ashley Graham.

Even experienced, every nail technician has their methods and way of working, but each also has their preferences depending on their difficulties; it's normal and it's okay. For example, I struggle with filing; although I technically know how to do it, I find that I lose too much time, and personally, I'd rather save that time for nail art, or simply not keep my client too long. I find that the American method is perfect precisely for nail stylists - like me - who are rather slow and meticulous; you save so much time, especially when it comes to long shapes like stiletto or ballerina, as the tip is already shaped and adapts to the client's nail.

The American method is also ideal for those who like to change their manicure often; they remove like a semi-permanent polish, so there's no need for a nail drill to remove all the product. The technique is very practical when you do your own nails!

The soft gel tips wear very lightly; when applied correctly, the look is simply natural.
Aprés also offers their line of sculpted tips; they are a bit more curved and have a well-defined C-curve, for those looking for this effect, and for rather long shapes.

The American method offers the possibility of working very quickly and with versatility without compromising quality, to enrich your service offerings if you are a professional or to make your life easier if you are an amateur who does your own nails at home.

Between a natural look with short nails and more sophisticated talons like stiletto, you and your clients have the choice!
